Firstly, let me say, that i am eager to help you – and that i would do it, even if you weren’t offering me any money. Actually, i would feel kind of greedy if i agreed on accepting such huge amounts of money for a little favour like this.
Maybe we could agree on you giving me only five percent and in return, you could help me doing some business in Africa – a market, where I'm about to enter with my firm. It’s a little difficult to explain, what products we sell – you have to see it for yourself. But to give you a hint, it involves both chickens, made of rubber and norwegian “myse”-ost. You use them in agriculture to scare away something we like to call “fuskerøve, lyn-negere og lurendrejere” - I don’t know the words in English

As for your request for me to travel to Amsterdam, it is quite a coincidence, as I will be on a business trip in the nearby city of Urtrech, Netherlands by the end of this month.
However, i won’t be able to come to Amsterdam at this occasion, as i have a very tight schedule during my stay. If possible, it would make things a lot easier for me, i you could deposit the funds in Utrecht instead. It’s only a 15-20 minute drive from central Amsterdam, and quite a nice place with canals and outdoor restaurants. And the serve the best “Vlaamse Frites” in the Netherlands. Also, you should visit “Coco’s – A restaurant, that describe their food as “louse food and warm beer” but it’s only a joke. The food is actually very good, and you get a large bucket for the bones. If the waiter is a tall, balded guy with tattoos, say hello from me – he usually gives a 10 %  discount for my friends.

Well, back to business. I do not own a scanner myself, but it may be possible for me to borrow one some time next week. If this is possible, i will send you a scan of my drivers license or passport.  Should i use this e-mail address for the purpose, and what would my next steps be, if I won’t succeed in borrowing a scanner ?

By the – a friendly piece of advice: Your “caps-lock” key seems to be stuck, making it very difficult to read your e-mails and making you look like you are shouting. Thank you for your email Saturday, which made things a lot clearer for me.

Since i received your email, I have been trying to call Steve Mbeki at the telephone number, you gave me. Unfortunatly, without luck. I think it may be a wrong number, or you forgot to give me the country code. The first couple of times I dialed the number, I heard a sound that was like "duuuu-dyyyyy-diiiiii". The last time i called, a girl picked it up, and told me, that this was the number for something called "numse-Ursulas tisse-bæ og ekstrem-udblokningsklinik" - not a very nice place, if you know what i mean. Nevertheless, I cannot contact the diplomat on the enclosed number, so i was wondering, if he have another number and maybe an address, where I can send him an good old fashioned letter. Furthermore, i do not have a fax-machine. Nobody uses those things any more

- nowadays, it's emails everywhere. But i do have a phone number - but I'm not sure which one to give you. My time zone is GMT +1, and my work hours is 9-17. I don't know what time zone you are in - but if you are in GMT + 9, you should call my home number, and if its GMT -2 - +2, you could contact me at work, as long as you do the math involved.

Although things turns out to be a little more difficult than I expected, i have no doubt, that everything will turn out for the best. I'm still grateful, that you gave me the opportunity to help you.

When would it be possible for you to meet me in Amsterdam ? I'm asking, because I'm about to reschedule my visit in the nearby city of Utrecht at the end of this month. If you give me precise time and date, it will be possible for me to squeeze you in somewhere. And by the way, will anything be required of me, other than my normal travelling papers ? I think it's quite easy for members of the EU to open accounts in other European countries  - the last time I opened an account in Amsterdam, they didn't even want to se my drivers license (lucky for me, because the photo I really, really bad - i was quite drunk when it was taken.)

Some time ago, we you offered me a chance to help you in your desperate situation. I promised to reply within a short period of time, but I did'nt. Frankly, i'm quite sorry for the fact, that i have kept you in despair for so long.

The reason for my silence is not, that I have got second thoughts about your business proposal.

Honestly, the truth is, that I have been hospitalized for some time now. I had an accident whit my drycleaner, two pounds of the sweedish speciality "surströmning" and would you believe it: i broke my diller, or "The Holy Rod" as they say over there... But i'm back from the hospital now, and kalorius has healed just fine, allthough it's still quite purple and looking like a karry-medister.

If your offer still stands, please reply to this mail. I'm still a month from total recovery, but i can head for Amsterdam from the beginning of the new year.

Of course i will go to Amsterdam to help you. I’ts such a small trip for me, but can mean a world of difference to you. As i mentioned in my first e-mail, i’m still in not recovered after my accident. My fedefinger is still quite sore, and i don’t expect to completely recover until some time next month – which is why, i would like to wait a month or so to go to Amsterdam . I hope that you can wait for me, and that my sorry state don’t compromízes your ackward situation further.
